WWEs Executive Vice President of Consumer Products, Casey Collins, commented on the achievement, stating, Surpassing 1.5 million downloads globally for WWE SuperCard in less than one week is truly an incredible accomplishment. Furthermore, the casual game has garnered average ratings of 4.5 out of 5 on Apple iOSs App Store and a similar 4 out of 5 on Androids Google Play Store. The game is available for both Android and Apple iOS systems, helping it to reach a wide and diverse audience. The sports entertainment card game has become WWE and 2Ks most successful free-to-play mobile game in history. In just one week, SuperCard has been downloaded more than 1.5 million times.
2K has promised continual updates and roster expansions for the mobile game. Players can then use their decks to compete in exhibition matches and King of the Ring tournaments, earning more cards along the way. WWE SuperCard allows players to build a deck consisting of various WWE superstars and train them to improve their stats. While anticipation for the wrestling simulator continues to build, 2K quietly released a mobile game just one week ago. Now, the company is gearing up for the release of WWE 2K15 on October 28th of this year. Since 2K Games purchase of the WWE license, they have released WWE 2K14 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems. THQ had a long-standing deal with WWE, dating back to their first game for the company, WrestleMania 2000, in October of 1999. 2K Games purchased the license to produce games for WWE last year after the prior license holder, THQ, filed for bankruptcy in December of 2012 and subsequently went out of business.
